Tile animal control officer may not <br />autborlze tile animal to be confi~led on the owner's premises unless tile owner bas <br />a fenced-in area in his yard and the fenced-in area bas no entrances or exil:s <br />that are not loc~ed, and tile animal is currently vaccinated against rabies. <br />tbs suimal is conflned on the owner's premises, the animal control officer shall <br />revisi~ the premises for inspection purposes at approximately tile middle of the <br />coofinement period and again at the conclusion of the confinement period. <br /> (c) In the ease of stray dogs or cats whose ownership ls not known, the <br />dogs or cats may be euthanized and the head examioed for rabies or kept for the <br />supervised quarantine period required by this section at the county animal <br />shelter. <br /> (d) If rabies does not develop within ten (10) days after a dog or cat is <br />quarantined under tills section, the dog or cat may be released from quarantine <br />with the written permission of the ~nimal Control Department, If the dog or <br />bas been confined in the courtly animal shelter, the owner shall pay a l-es <br />determined by resolution of ~be Board of County Commissioners for each da5' ef <br />coufinement to defray the cost of feeding, open reclaiming tbs animal, <br />shall be available for public inspec[ion in the office of the Clerk to tbs Boar~ ~{.~,~ <br />of County Commissioners and Cabarrus Couoty Animal Shelter. <br /> <br /> <br />
