STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Emergency Medical Services System in North <br />Carolina provides life-saving medical care to thousands of its <br />citizens annually; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, thousands of emergency medical technicians, <br />paramedics, emergency department physicians and nurses have <br />completed extensive and diversified training Jin emergency <br />medical procedures; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a large portion of our citizens have been trained <br />in cardiopulmonary resuscitation in order to help fellow citizens <br />in time of need; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, concerned citizens and elected officials are <br />serving on regional emergency medical services councils <br />throughout the state to further guide the local development <br />of a comprehensive emergency medical care system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a large number of these individuals volunteer their <br />time to provide this valuable service; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, vast improvements in emergency medical services <br />have been made in this state during the past ten years; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, recognition is due those who serve on behalf of all <br />North Carolinians; now <br /> <br /> THEREFORE, I, James B. Hunt, Jr., Governor of the State of <br />North Carolina, do hereby proclaim the week of September 18-24, <br />1983, as <br /> <br /> Eb~RGENCY b~DICAL SERVICES WEEK <br /> <br />In North Carolina and commend this observance to our citizens. <br /> By the Governor: <br /> <br /> James B.
