Low~ance College as the primary deliverer of educational services for Cabarrus <br />H. McEachern County for the North Carolina Community College System. In the <br />M~ Melvin 1982-83 academic year, 4,528 Cabarrus residents enrolled in Rowan <br />K. ~ller Tech programs which comprised 35 percent of Rowan Tech's total enroll- <br />j. Mingo ment. Smith The Cabarrus ~dvisory Committee has dedicated itself to working <br />S. Stroup with the trustees of Rowan Technical. College to meet the educational <br />C. Tucker needs of Cabarrus County without wasteful duplication of programs and <br />R. Ward facilities. The advisory committee, in cooperation with the newly <br />p. Widenhouse consolidated Cabarrus County Board of Education, has achieved the <br />B. Willeford goal of providing an interim facility to house technical educational <br />W. Va~rnam programs in Concord. The former Administration Building of the City <br /> School System on Corban Street has been leased for that purpose. This <br /> facility will enhance Rowan Tech's ability to broaden the scope of <br /> educational offerings in Cabarrus County. This facility will also <br /> require an initial allocation of capital outlay funds for necessary <br /> alterations and additions as well as the changes necessary to meet <br /> federal requirements of accessibility for the handicapped. <br /> <br /> <br />
