The program will be directed toward <br />those who have had a history of disciplinary referrals, ~_ruancy, suspert~ons, <br />ex~,]~ons, court referrals, or a history of other inappropriate behaviors in the home, <br />schcoL or community. The emph~ of this program will be %o help ch{]~reaq deal more <br />e~fectively with their own ~napprop~iata behaviors toward their peers and ad,libra by <br />improving corn murdcation sk~]]~, affective development, decision-making, and <br />prob/~m-solving sk~]]m necessary %O effect positive confrontation of problems in <br /> <br />living. The program will seek %O increase se/f-esteem and to ]~-~sen the prokRems <br />caused by inadequat~ coping skH]~_ Some of the day-to-day activ~ provided through <br />this program may be short field trips, enrichment and ~ exp~ences, parent <br />conferences, and procurement of community resource personnel ~or additional classes <br />and tJ]erapeutic programs. School and involved agency personnel will refer the names <br />of potential participants %O the school p~incipal~ gu~ance cour..~e]or and project <br />counselor/therapist with the final de~on for placement being jointly made by the <br />school-based committee. This committee will be composed of the parent/guar~{m~, <br />p~incipal and/or guidance counselor~ teacher and the counselor/~faerapi5+_ <br /> <br /> The program participants will meet on a daily basis or es frequently as deemed <br />necessary by the counselor/therapist with regards to the individual and group meeds. <br /> <br /> Students will remain in the program until succ~ful comp]mt~on or until <br />terminated upon the recommendation of the counselor/therapist with the consensus of <br />the corn mittee. <br /> <br /> <br />
