These regulations state that <br /> the ~om~nittee~s role is to advise on the development and administration of the <br /> area plan of services, The advisory Committee makes recommendations to the COG <br /> Board on the area plan Of services-which Ss prepared by the Centralina Aging <br /> Pragram staff. These services currently include Title III social and nutrition <br /> se-~vices and Title V senior community service employment programs. <br /> <br /> Thc Region F Aging Advisory Committee is made up of twenty-six persons nominated <br /> as fo!lcws: Three nominees each. from Cabarrus, Gastoa~ lredell, Liacoln, Rowan, <br /> S=anly a~d Unica Counties; four nominees from Mecklenburg County; and one nominee <br /> of che COG Board who is e local elected official. Thc COG Board approves all <br /> the nominations received from the eight Codnny Corcraissions. <br /> <br /> Thc Older Americans Act regulations state that an least fifty percent of the <br /> advisory committee must he composed of persons over age sixty and that some <br /> of these must be older persons with economic or social needs who may be partici- <br /> pazing in the services being provided under the area plan. In addit£on, re- <br /> presentatives of older persons, including local elected officials, may serve <br /> on the advisory committee. It is not appropriate for persons employed by agencies <br /> receiving Older Americans Act grant funds to serve on this committee. <br /> <br /> <br />
