Resolution Passed.by <br /> The County Commissioners of the County of <br /> RoWan, North Carolina <br /> <br /> T~T wHEREAS, it is recognized that the proper movement of <br />travel witbin and through the Concord-Kannapolis urban area is a <br />highly desirable element of a comprehensive plan for the orderly <br />growth and development of ~e area; and <br /> <br /> W~IEREAS, there are a number of governmental jurisdictions <br />within the Concord~Kannaoplis urban area which have been author- <br />ized i~lementation and regulatory responsibilities for transpor- <br />tation by North Carolina General Statutes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is desirable that a coordinated, comprehensive, <br />and cooperative transportation planning process be maintained in <br />the Concord-Kannapolis urban area to insure that the transporta- <br />tion system is maintained on an efficient and.economical basis <br />commensurate with the public health, safety, and welfare; and <br /> <br /> %~EREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of <br />Concord, The Town of China Grove, The To%~n of Landis, County of <br />Cabarrus, County of Rowan, and North Carolina Department of Trans- <br />portation has been prepared that sets forth the responsibilities <br />and working arrangements for maintaining a continuing, comprehen- <br />sive, and cooperative transportation planning process; and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />OF THE COUNTY OF ROWAN, NORTH CAROLINA: <br /> <br /> That the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Con- <br />cord, The Town of China Grove, The Town of Landis, County of Cabar- <br />rus, County of Rowan, and North Carolina Board of Transportation, <br />Agreement Number 10-6-80, be approved and that the Chairperson of <br />the County Board of Commissioners and County Clerk are hereby di.- <br />rected to execute the Memorandum of Understanding. <br /> <br /> I, , clerk of the County of Rowan, North <br />Carolina, do hereby certif] that the above is a true and correct <br />copy of excerpts from the minutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />of said County. <br /> <br /> WIT~ESS my hand and the official seal of the County of Rowan <br />this the day of , <br /> <br /> ATTEST (Seal) <br /> <br /> County Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
