Plans are undel~ay for an eventful first week-end of operation. Although tile Park w}ll be approximately one-fo~n-th co~DDlete, it is anticipated that tile public will enjoy and full~, utilize the limited facilities available a~ the Park. Based o~} a limited public relations campaign, response concerning the use of the park's restored daii'yT barn has been im~)ressive. Several groups have in- ~tuired about tile rental of this facility on a regular basis. Fishing at the park's 9-acre lake has already been so overwhellai~g that a fishing Pe~Dit system has had to be instituted. In addition, recent testing of the lake's fish population indicate that the lake is well stocked and is ideal for a community fi shin-o program. Seeding is unde~,~ay on tile Park's Ballfield/Soccer Complex. Although, the fields will not be available for public use this Spring, it is anticipated that Soccer Fields will be available for use this Fall. This will, of course, depend upon the weatber this Summer and seedin,o progress during this next several months. Finally, the Staff and ! are very excited about the opportunity to program this fine Park Facility. We are aware that it will take time to "sell" this new facility to the public. However, we are confident that giveu time, Frank Liske Park ~yill be nile of tile finest recreation attractions in Cabarrus Cot~nty and in the entire region surroundin-o Cabarrus County.
