the higher elevations of the county on a plane with %he major wate~
users. Thls would reduce pumping costs.

Flood control would be an added advantage from the structure as
approximately 55% of flood damage in the Coddle Creek, Coldwater
Creek, and Dutch Buffalo Creek watershed is sustained on Dutch
Buffalo Creek. Additional Federal funding could be available be-
cause of this.

Black Run Creek: The City of Mt. Pleasant bas already acquired land
for and plans to build a dam and reservoir for their own water needs.
To this end .87 MGD was deducted from the water needed for a county
system when demand calculations were made. The .87 MGD is based upon
5,430 people using 160 gpcd in the year 2010. Since this site is
already being developed it is dropped from further consideration as
a county-wide source.

COST ESTIMATES

General

The purpose of these cost estimates ia to aid in the determination
of the best source for the additional future needs of the study area,
and are not intended to reflect the total costs involved in putting
the county-wide water'system into operation.

In order to establish an equitable basis for comparison and
simplify the estimates, the following assumptions were made:

1. In all cases a water treatment plant will be needed to
treat the additional water, and the cost of this plant
would be equal at any site.

/O
