C. <br /> <br />Provided training on woods, brush, and grass fires with Poplar Tent VFD, <br />Kannapolis ~'4, ~unt Mitchell, and Mount Pleasant VFD. <br /> <br />FIRE CONTROL <br /> <br />Ninety-five fires ~ere reported this year which burned sixty acres. ~bst of <br />tbese fires were caused either by debris burning or ash disposal from wood s~oves <br />and fire places. <br /> <br />The loss of woodland and other property was held to a minimt~ largely due to the <br />quick action of all. volunteer fire departments. Witheut them, our situation would <br /> <br />We have received the new 1982 Dedge four-wheel drive truck. We have installed the <br />water tank, motor, tool boxes, and radios and the truck is now operational. <br /> <br />WORK PE~IDING <br /> <br />Work left from last quarter consists of five forest management plans to make, <br />and about 100 acres of pulpwood to mark.
