C. 28025 <br /> <br /> Dear Charles: <br /> <br /> Attached you will find a copy of specifications for landscapi]~9 materials <br /> that were advertised by our department on November 25, 1982 in the Concord <br /> Tribune. <br /> <br /> The Bids were opened on Friday, December 3, 1982'and because of Agenda <br /> deadlines, a bid tabulation form was not available for attachment to <br /> this letter. However, Jerry Hagler and myself will be available at the <br /> December 5th meeting to present our recommendation£ and the bid tabulation <br /> form to the Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br /> Please call to the Commissioners attention under the instruction to <br /> Bidders Number 15 which state that "unit prices will be.considered and <br /> the overall contract will be divided among bidders accordingly'!. The <br /> reason for this is because in landscape materials it is often very <br /> difficult for one nursery to supply the quantities and quality of 'materials <br /> requested in our bid. Therefore, we may recommend that the Board of <br /> Commissioners award contracts to several nurseries and not necessarily <br /> the one that received the overall low bid, This is permitted through <br /> the North Carolina General Statutes.. <br /> <br /> We will look forward to meeting with you and the Commissioners on <br /> December 5th.
