RESOLUTION OF REAFFIP~_TION OF <br /> COR~ITTMENT TO INCREASE HOUSING <br /> OPPOrtUNITY WITHIN CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> ~¢HEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commisszoners <br /> realized the housing needs in the County and adopted the goals <br /> and objectives enumerated within the Cabarrus County Housing <br /> Plan and, <br /> <br /> W~{EREAS, further recognized the special demand for <br /> assisted housing programs with wide geographic distribution <br /> including areas outside the corporate limits of the County <br /> <br /> W11EREAS, the Area-Wide Housing Opportunity Plan (MOP) <br /> prepared by the Centralina Council of Governments and adopted <br /> by formal resolution by both the City of Concord and the County <br /> of Cabarrus is designed no increase the distribution of HUD <br /> assisted housing over a wide geographic area of the region to <br /> decrease the barriers to low mncome persons as they seek assisted <br /> housing within the region and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> is aware of the shift in distribution patterns utilized by HUD <br /> towards those areas outside those jurisdictions previously re- <br /> ceiving the bulk of the allocations and, <br /> <br /> ~¢HEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> further recognizes the importance of maintaining close working. <br /> relationships with all jurisdictions within the County to insure <br /> that a fair share of assisted housing is allocated to all areas <br /> of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Board of <br /> County Commissioners of Cabarrus County reaffirm their committ-. <br /> ment to aggressively secure all appropriate housing opportunities <br /> and to work toward a cooperative agreement with the City of <br /> Concord and the Concord Housing Authority for a successful out- <br /> reach program for low income persons outside the county seat to <br /> participate in these programs. <br /> <br /> This resolution adopted after motion, second and roll <br /> call on this date. <br /> <br /> DATED: <br /> <br />ATTEST: BOARD OF COUNTY CO~4ISSIONERS <br />Clerk to the Board of CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />County Commissioners <br /> <br /> by: <br /> Ralph C.
