The application is kno,~a as a <br /> 1203 [2), after the section of the legislation which funds <br /> <br /> The prlm~%-f p'urpose of the grant is to complete Basic Life Support systems ~nd to <br /> lay the foundation for Advanced Life Support. <br /> <br /> In accordance with this overall goal, staff has prepared a draft of the application. <br /> This draf: includes both "regional" projects, and projects which represent requests <br /> of specific providers. The main activities of the grant are outlimed below: <br /> <br /> M~mnower/Trainin~ <br /> <br />1. Training telecommunicators in the operation of UH? co~mmunications. <br /> <br />2. Traimimg additional firs~ respoeders in Staniy County. <br /> <br />3. Investigating the use of veterans in <br /> <br />4. Training 200 additional ~r's in areas of shortage. <br /> <br />5. Providing refresher ironing to 675 ~LMT's needing it. <br /> <br />6. Establishing continuing education programs for'LMT's. <br /> <br /> 7. Training additional ~f~-!~7's to meet needs due ~o attrition, adding new persoanel. <br /> <br /> 8. Holding one workshop each on set,lng up .%LS program~, and personnel supervision/ <br /> labor law. <br /> <br /> 9. Training ]~ nurses ~hrough Emergency Nurse Education program (or equivalent). <br /> <br />10. Training 16 additonm] CPR insc~--uctors. <br /> <br />1!. Providing workshops on patient transfer a; local hospital~, <br /> <br />12. Prowldimg Advanced Cardiac Life Support ~raining for 10 physicians. <br /> <br />13. Purchasing training equipment for .~DiC. <br /> <br /> Communications <br /> <br /> 1. Assisting with 9!1 planning in I~edei! and Rowan. <br /> <br /> 2. Assis~iag wi~.h ~M~D development (by purchasing consoles) in Cabarrus. <br /> <br /> 3. Purchasing a second console, call-checks, amd comcrol stazions on regional <br /> chaune!m for Mecklenburg <br /> <br /> 4.
