Our understanding is that such an authorify will <br />be Charged with determining water resources thrcughout the <br />state and seek ways to divert apparent water surpluses to <br />areas which are experiencing water shortages. <br /> <br /> While on the surface this might appear to be both <br />feasible and desirable, those of us in the Yadkin River <br />basin have become quite concerned that in reality it represents <br />a loss of local authority, planning and decision making <br />pertaining to water resources and their subsequent impact on <br />potential growth.
