Upgrade Existing Community Park Sites <br /> <br /> These sites, most of which exist on school property, pro- <br /> vide convenient, at-hand recreation opportunities for <br /> most rural residents. ~ile most of these parks are <br /> relatively small in scale, their importance no over-all <br /> program development should not be minimized. <br /> <br /> Cabarrus County has initiated and pioneered an excellent <br /> matching fund program, whereby local communities can <br /> apply for County assistance (and federal assistance) <br /> in developing specific pro0ects. This excellent program <br /> should be fully utilized in carrying out the recommendations <br /> below: <br /> <br /> a. Central Cabarrus High School <br /> <br /> -light four existing tennis courts <br /> -light and repair existing basketball courts <br /> -construct tot lot and fence <br /> -provide bleachers for existing softball field <br /> <br /> Estimated Cost $23,000 <br /> <br /> b.
