This application will be submitted to DH~ in Atlanta at the end of February. Could ~ou ~-e-"s~e~-~ resolution' for consideration by the Boar~'g'~ County Co~issioners at their first meeting in February? A member of Centralina's staff will be on hand to e~lain or answer any questions concerning the appli- cation, if you so desire. Please note that we are requesting two types of match for the application. The first is in-kind ~tch (noted in Item ~2 of the resolution), ~ich is custo~rily requested to show local government support for day-to-day E}~ operations. In the past, in-kind match has been comprised of existing county funding to ~ operations, pri~rily in the area oi ~ salaries, or subsidy to a private provider. Once again, this type of in-kind ~tch will be appre- ciated, ~d will require no additional expenditure on the part of Cabarrus County. The amount of in-kind ~tch which~houl~designated by Cabarrus County (on a pro-rata population basis) ~ $127,055.~ The second t~e of match is a 25% ~tching requirement for equipment which is requested for Cabarrus County and Harrisburg Rescue Squad under the 1203(2) application. This is addressed in Item ~3 of the resolution. Although you ~y require that each individual agency provide the match for its o~ equipment, we are asking that the county agree to "cause the ~tch to be provided". The exact amount of each agency's requests are sho~ on the attached Budget ~ The total requested is $51,092; therefore, the match to be guaranteed is $12,77~ Thank you for your continued support on this and other public safety ~tters.
