Question Pl~

In the growth center, there is capacity to accommodate additional growth.

The town of China Grove operates a municipal water and sewer system. The water
system consists of seven walls with a pumping capacity of 504,000 gallons per
day. Consumption is a minimum of 200,000 gallons per day and a maximum of-
270,000 gallons per day. The sewerage system consists of a treatment plant with
a design capacity of 350,000 gallons per day. The plant consists of a spirogester
aerator, a high-rate trickling filter and secondary setting. The plant presently
treats 190,000 gallons per day of sewerage

The town of Landis also operates a municipal water and sewer system. The
water system is supplied by two man-made lakes and one rese~oir. The two lakes
have a capacity of 130 million gallons of water. The water treatment plant is
designed to treat 1 million gallons of water per day. The~ highest daily peak
consumption has been 1,250,000 gallons per day, but the average daily consumption
is 600,000 to 700,000 gallons per day. The sewerage system consists of a treat-
meet plant which operates by two methods of treatment: the aeration type (primarily)
and the trickling type and has a desig~ c~pacity of two million gallons per day.
Estimated consumption in 1978 was 830,000 gallons per d~.

The city of Concord operates s municipal water and sewerage system for the
city and surrounding areas.
