Question Pl~ <br /> <br /> In the growth center, there is capacity to accommodate additional growth. <br /> <br />The town of China Grove operates a municipal water and sewer system. The water <br />system consists of seven walls with a pumping capacity of 504,000 gallons per <br />day. Consumption is a minimum of 200,000 gallons per day and a maximum of- <br />270,000 gallons per day. The sewerage system consists of a treatment plant with <br />a design capacity of 350,000 gallons per day. The plant consists of a spirogester <br />aerator, a high-rate trickling filter and secondary setting. The plant presently <br />treats 190,000 gallons per day of sewerage <br /> <br /> The town of Landis also operates a municipal water and sewer system. The <br />water system is supplied by two man-made lakes and one rese~oir. The two lakes <br />have a capacity of 130 million gallons of water. The water treatment plant is <br />designed to treat 1 million gallons of water per day. The~ highest daily peak <br />consumption has been 1,250,000 gallons per day, but the average daily consumption <br />is 600,000 to 700,000 gallons per day. The sewerage system consists of a treat- <br />meet plant which operates by two methods of treatment: the aeration type (primarily) <br />and the trickling type and has a desig~ c~pacity of two million gallons per day. <br />Estimated consumption in 1978 was 830,000 gallons per d~. <br /> <br /> The city of Concord operates s municipal water and sewerage system for the <br />city and surrounding areas. The water system is supplied by two man-made lakes <br />which are Lake Fisher and Lake Concord, also, water is draw~ from Coddle Creek. <br /> <br />The water treatment plant is designed to treat 12 million gallons per day and the <br /> <br /> % <br />present consumption'is 5.5 million gallons per day. The sewerage system consists <br /> <br />of two treatment plants, the Brey-McNair treatment plant has a design capacity of <br />5 million gallons per day and the present demand is 4.5 mill-ion gallons per day. <br />The Brey-MeNair plant is presently being phased out by a new plant called the <br />Rocky River Regional Treatment Plant. This plant was a joint project of Cannon <br />Mills Company, the city of ConcoCd, and Cabarrus County. The plant is a second- <br /> <br /> <br />
