The Rocky River Treatment Plant <br /> is presently cosstructed to treat 25 million gallons per day, with a design capacity <br /> for expansion to 100 million gallonsl This plant will be able to serve all of the <br /> regional growth center except for areas around China Grove and Landis which is - <br /> located in the Grants Creek and Cold Water Creek Drainage basin. <br /> <br /> The unincorporsted city of Kannapolis is served with water and sewer services <br />by two Sanitary Districts: Kannapolis and Royal Oaks. Water is supplied by <br />facilities buil't by Cannon Mills Company and is sold through a private subsidiary <br />called the Lakeview Water Company to the sanitary districts. The source of the <br />Cannon Mills system is m man-made lake called Kannapolis Lake. The design capacity <br />is 15 million gallons per day. The Kannapolis Sanitary District contracts their <br />water needs from the Lakeview Water Company. The Royal Oaks Sanitary District <br />purchases water by contract from the Kannapolls Sanitary District. Ten percent <br />of the sewerage of the Kamnapolis Sanitary District is treated by contract to a <br />treatment plant owned and operated by the Cannon Mills Company. The remaining <br />ninety percent is treated by the Rocky River Regional Treatment Plant. Ail of <br />Royal Oaks Sanitary District sewerage is treated at the Rocky River Regional <br />Treatment Plant. <br /> <br />Question #18 <br /> <br /> The growth center energy sources are electricity and nathral gas. Electricity <br />is supplied by Duke Power Company. Power is distributed by Duke Power Company, <br />the Concord Board of Light and Water Commission, and the town of Landis Utilities. <br />Natural gas is supplied by Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Company. Gas distributors <br />are Public Service Company of North Carolina and Piedmont Gas Company~ The other <br />fuels that are available are fuel oil, coal, and LP gas. <br /> <br /> <br />
