A certified engineer firm was contacted requesting needed information on structure site 15, The engineers met with Mr. Royce Espey to discuss various problems and information concerning site 15. Land treatment information for watershed studies was completed during this year. At the request of the Watershed Planning staff, a financia], plan was furnished by the District for the watershed project, A meeting was held on April 25, 1980 with the Watershed Planning staff to review the watershed project with the sponsors and County Commissioners. A meeting was held on May 14, 1980 at. the Agriculture Center. Mr. Royce Eppey and Mr. Thomas H. Wetmore were present to update information on the Coddle-Coldwater-Dutch Buffalo Creeks watershed project. In May, 1980 a discussion of changing structure ~site 16 location was thoroughly reviewed by the Supervisors, Watershed Commissioners and Mr. Royce Espey. Explanations of changes were given by Mr. Espey and he requested the sponsors consider the change in developing the wock plan. A scoping meeting was held at the Agriculture Center on June 3-4, 1980. Other agency personnel that will have comments concerning parts of the watershed work plan were present. During the year, th~ Watershed Planning staff has been in Cabarrus County offering their assistance, visiting structure sites and obtaining information needed to develop the dreft plan. Several items mentioned at the June 1980 meeting were the major structure sites, because of size and other factors are expected to be more costly than other sites included in the watershed project, installation will be set up on 8 year periods and land treatment would require three people on 8 year periods. William Cook Secretary-Treasurer The Watershed Commissioners, District Supervisors and some of the local sponsors feel that with the assistance of the Watershed Planning staff, progress has been made this year toward reaching a long time goal to get the Coddle-Coldwater-Dutch Buffalo Creeks watershed project draft plan ready for review° The~Cabarrus County Commissioners approved an appropriation of $6,094.00 to the Cabarrus County Watershed Improvement Commission for the coming year.
