B, ' ~IE IlEAl. TH AUTHORITY AGREES TO: <br /> <br /> l. Assist the JAIL in developing and implementing policies and pro- <br /> cedures that assure high quality, health services, using the current <br /> "AMA Standards for Health Services in Jails" as a baseline guide. <br /> <br /> 2. Discuss the delivery of health services quarterly with the Sheriff, <br /> or his designee. <br /> <br /> 3. Review health services delivered by other providers at least once <br /> per to assure that quality health services are carried <br /> out according ko the policies and procedures developed for the JAIL. <br /> <br /> 4. Approve and/or conduct appropriate training courses for all levels <br /> of personnel delivering any kind of health service. <br /> <br /> 5. Arrange for "sick call" to be held by qualified health personnel at <br /> least times per week. <br /> <br />C. THE JAIL AGREES TO: <br /> <br /> 1. Impose no restrictions upon the HEALTH AUTHORITY regarding the <br /> practice of medicine, except that security regulations apply equally <br /> to facility and health personnel. <br /> <br /> 2. Assign trained personnel on all shifts to provide necessary health <br /> servicma. <br /> <br /> 3. Provide adequate equipment, supplies, clerical assistance, and <br /> appropriate space for private medical examination of inmates and <br /> confidential storage of medical records and medications, as deter- <br /> mined by the HEALTH AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> 4. Provide information from the inmate's confinement record if the <br /> HEALTH AUTHORITY believes that such information may be relevant to <br /> the inmate's health. <br /> <br />D. IT IS FURTHER AGREED THAT: <br /> <br /> 1. ~%e JAIL and the HEALTH AUTHORITY will mutually arrange for all <br /> levels of medical care delivered by other providers. <br /> <br /> 2. No regulation of the JAIL shall involve the HEALTH AUTHORITY in any <br /> aspect of the correctional or disciplinary process which is not <br /> related to genuiue medical concerns, or which would unduly restrict <br /> or compromise his medical Judgment. <br /> <br /> 3. The JAIL and the HFEALTH AUTHORITY share the responsibility to assure <br /> that informed consent standards in the comanunity shall be observed <br /> and that signed authorization will be obtained before the release <br /> of any medical record information. <br /> <br />E. This AGREEMENT may be amended at any time by mutual agreement of the <br /> parties. Before any amendment is valid, it must first be reduced to <br /> writing and signed by the parties.. <br /> <br /> <br />
