CO~STRUCTtO~ PROGRESS REPORT <br /> <br />ViSIOi~ CABLE OF I~ETROLINA Ql~arter ending 3-31-79 <br /> <br />During the first quarter of 1979 the following was accomplished: <br /> <br />I. Approximately 375 strand miles of proposed CATV plant has <br />been [napped for makeready and construction. This represents <br />the core system as denoted within the red outlines on the en- <br />closed area maps. <br /> <br />2. Application has been made for all necessary pole attach- <br />~ent agreements. The requested agreements are ~nder consid- <br />eration by the City of Concord Board of Light and Water Com- <br />missioners and the Concord Telephone Company. Duke Power <br />Compai~y has prepared an agre.ement in response to the request <br />ThiB agreement bas been forwarded to the Office oi the Pres- <br /> ident of Vision Cable Communications for execution. <br /> <br />3. ^ temporary office has been established at 23 Union Street <br />~torth (Chamber of Commerce) in Concord. Vision Cable of Metro- <br /> iina is located in room 207. <br /> <br />4. Following an extensive search final consideration ~s now <br />being given to the selection and purchase of both a business <br />office location and a "headend" site meeting the requirements <br />necessary to establish ~ satellite communications "downlink" <br />and an optimum off-the-air television 9ickup and distribution <br />cen;..er. Ail offer has been extended for the purchase of these <br />properties. <br /> <br />5. 1 joined Vision Cable as General Manager of the Metrolina <br />Comp]'ex (Concord-Cabarrus-Rowan)on January 29, 1979. <br /> <br />6. A system engineer has been located and will be reporting <br />as soon as actual makeready rearrangements are scheduled by <br />the utilities. <br /> <br />7. Bids are being accepted and contractors are under evaluat- <br />ion for system construction]. <br /> <br />8. Cable and electronics are also under evaluation. <br /> <br /> <br />
