'~-:' '" A RESOLUTION PLEDGING COOPERATION WITH THE COUNTY OF <br /> CABARRUS IN THE AREA OF STREET A~lO SUBDIVISION NA~-~ING <br /> <br /> WHEREAS 'the Cabarrus County Board of County Commissioners, in <br /> !' concert with local goverm-mental'officials of the municipalities and <br /> the ~a~$-.s_bkr~Street Planning Board, recognizing .the need to preserve <br /> the health~ safety and general welfare of the citizenry· especially in <br /> - the area of emergency services, have developed a policy to erradicate <br />':' duplicated or deceptively similar names in the area of subdivision and <br /> street naming and, <br /> <br /> WHgREAS the elimination of confusion in the area of ~treet names <br /> has maz{y d.esirable results including the lessing of the response time <br /> by emergency vehicles on a kounty-wide basis and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the continued, maintenance of this system of non-duplication <br /> depends for a large part on the cooperation of the municipalities within <br /> the County, the Kannapolis Street Planning Board and the Cabarrus County <br /> Planning Department· <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT THE ELECTED OFFICIALS OF <br /> THE TOWN OF HARRISBURG, NORTH CAROLINA, sitting in regular session on <br /> Ju~' $~!, , 197c , do recognize the need for the continua- <br /> tion of this process and do agree to coordinate any new proposed name's of <br /> streets o~ subdivisions or any change in name with the Cabar'~us County <br /> Planqing Department prior to official approval of the new name. <br /> This resolution adopted after motion, second and roll call on <br /> this date. <br /> <br /> DATED: f"~'; ':~, ~"',".' <br /> <br /> AT~EST: . -' TOWN CoL,rNCIL OF THE TOWN OF <br /> Clerk to the Tow~.~ Council HARRISBURG, NORTH CAROLIMA <br /> <br /> ......... <br /> · ..~./ · . ~1/ - ~.,..... <br />  ~ .-:,.,~ ,_,-....,... .. , <br /> ,?
