Balanced Growth and <br /> Economic Development Policy. <br /> <br />-Worked with Charlie McGinnis regarding those local persons who might best <br />hav~ knowledge and time to participate with the various Task Groups on-the <br />Level B Study of the Yadkin - Pee Dee River Basin. <br /> <br />-Worked with Ralph Austin regarding concerns of the County Soil Conservation <br />Agent over the proposed alignments of sewer inteccepcors from the Co~cord area <br />to Mount Pleasant. <br /> <br />-Provided information and advice to Frank Roberts regarding Coca, unity Development, <br />Housing Assistance Plan, and A.H.O.P. <br /> <br /> A-95 Activities <br /> <br />Pro~ects Received <br />LEAA #80-11 Evidence Technical Unit <br />SCH #80-0061 Dutch Buffalo, Adams & Cold Water Creek <br /> <br />Projects Sisned Off <br />None <br /> <br /> Purchasin~ Activities <br /> <br />-Discussed automobiles, trucks, tires, auto supplies, office supplies with purchasing <br />official of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />-Discussed fire .hose project with Assistant City Manager of Concord. <br /> Risk Manasement and Insurance Activities <br /> <br />-In Concord we reviewed all insurance policies and left the risk analysis questionnaire <br />with Jim Wilson to complete. <br /> <br /> Human Services Activities <br /> <br />Manpower <br />-Assisted Cabarrus County CETA Work Experience project in the preparation of its <br />application for FFY'80. <br /> <br />-Invited local officials and manpower agencies to a meeting with DCE officials <br /> to discuss problems and concerns with CETA. <br /> <br />Aging <br />-Assisted Cabarrus Senior Services, Helpline, and Cabarrus DSS with applications <br /> for next year's aging funds. <br /> <br />Other <br />-Worked on a Regional Governor's Youth Conference, to discuss issues raised at <br />the Statewide Conference in May. Date is set for October 20, 1979 at UNC-C <br />and will last all day. We hope to have at least 100 local elected officials <br />attend to work with the young people. Each cdunty should consider recommending <br />2 or 3 persons. This will be explained further by Conference Planners in the ' <br />next few weeks. <br /> <br /> <br />
