Between August and December, 1979, the Principal Investigator <br /> will design a preliminary procedure for the multiple resource nomina[ion to <br /> the National Regi§ter with the help of the NCDAH Survey Coordinator and other <br /> colleagues. In December, 1979, the Principal Investigator will prepare a <br /> study list of individual properties and districts he believes ~eet National <br /> Register criteria for review by the Survey and Planning Branch and the North <br /> Carolina Historical Con~nission. <br /> <br />The proposed project will begin in January, 1979, and the four phases wil.1 be <br />carried out as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. Preparation and printing of inveotory publication..December through <br /> February, 1979-1980. <br /> <br />2. Final procedure design. March 1-15, 1980. <br /> <br />3. Preparation of nominations. March 15th. through govember 45, 1980. <br />This projection, subject to revision, is based on the inclusion of the <br />following properties in the multiple resource listing: <br /> <br /> a. Stonewall Jackson Training School Historic District (1½ weeks) <br /> b. Barber-Scotia College Historic District (1½ weeks) <br /> c. Locke-Randolph Cotton Mill '(1½ weeks) <br /> <br /> d. North Union Street Historic District (100 properties at 4 hrs. per <br /> property, l½ weeks to prepare nomination text) (12 weeks) <br /> <br /> e. South Union Street Historic District (30 properties at 4 hours per <br /> property, l½ weeks to prepare ~omination text) (5 weeks) <br /> <br /> f. Mount Pleasant Historic District (25 properties at 5 hours per <br /> property, l½ weeks to prepare nomination text) ( 5 weeks) <br /> <br /> g. Mill housing historic districts, Concord Kannapolis. At least <br /> two districts. (3 weeks) <br /> <br /> h. Cabarrus County rural properties (25 properties, 5 hours per property <br /> and 1½weeks to prepare nomination text) (5 weeks) <br /> <br />4. Einal assembly of entire nomination, submission and approval. November <br />15th. to December 31st. Upon completion of all properties, the entire nomination <br />will be sent through the Division of Archives and History to the Keeper of the <br />National Register. The nominations will be reviewed by the Keeper and then, if <br />approved, entered into the Register. Approval generall~ takes three to six <br />months. <br /> <br /> <br />
