CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> Physical Pl~nnin~ Activities <br /> <br /> -Met ~rlth Mount Pleaeant Mayor on a zoning problem and offered additional ser- <br /> vice if necessary, <br /> <br /> -Worked closely with both the County and the City of 'Concord on preparing for Com~ <br /> reunify Development Applications amd on preparing the County's OEDP towards their <br /> designation as an Economic Redevelopment County. <br /> <br /> -Ta.lked to the County's Housing Advisory Count tree regarding the Regional Housing <br /> Plan ahd future COG activity in the housing are~. <br /> <br /> Criminal Justide Activities <br /> <br /> -Provided technical assistance to Cabarrus County in the issuing of ~pecificatioms <br /> for their mew law enforcement communications tower, <br /> <br /> -De~.e_loped a list of potential vendors for Cabarrus County Co~nicatioms tower. <br /> <br />-Assisted Cabarrus CoUnty in obtai~ng an advance'of Law Enforcement Training <br />funds for the payment of tuition to the 1.~orthwestern University Supervisors course <br />sponsored by the Charlotte Police/Fire Academy. <br /> <br />-Assistmd Cabarrus officials in extending the bid opening date for the mew cumaant- <br />cations tower. <br /> <br /> Grants Assistance <br /> <br />-Answered questions for Concord on B.O.R. §rants in regard to determining htsto- <br />rical significance of si~e. <br /> <br />-Provided information to County om weatherization fueds (EnergyConservation). <br /> <br />-Sent requested articles from Federal Register to-County. <br /> <br /> Human Services Activities <br /> <br />Title XX <br /> <br />The H,n~-- Services Section Director (Chuck ChoraE) and the Title XX Planner <br />(Scarlette Johns) have been heavily involved for the past ~wo months in receiving <br />training in the Title XX plauntnS process which DHR is mak/n8 available ~o County <br />DSS depar~nents =o assist in the preparation of ~heir Title ~ budget this year. <br />This process has been developed by the N.C, State Department of Community Affairs <br />and COGs have been contracted w/th to provide technical assis=ance to DSS staff in <br />each county which wishes to utilize the system.
