WHEREAS, the Wolf Meadow School Road is a secondary State maintained road which connects U. S. Bighway 29 and Roberta Mill Road in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, said Wolf Meadow School Road also being designated under the State Road secondary system as State Road No. 1535; and WHEREAS, said Wolf Meadow School Road was constructed for the primary purpose of providing access to the Wolf Meadow Elementary School located between U. S. Highway 29 and Roberta Mill Road; and WHEREAS, this Board of County Commissioners has concluded that the interests of this county and its citizens may be best served by closing Wolf Meadow School Road and providing a new access road to the Wolf Meadow Elementary School; and WHEREAS, '-the--prop~rsed~os~ng--o£ [~ ~h~--W~l£ 14e~rd~-Scbo~t-~{uad- --hes ~ een--d~is e~ ed-~-~i~h--r~pr e se n~-~ti~e~ o f--%he-eaba-r~u s-~oun ty Boa r~3~f--E~ u c ~ti~T[--i~ c ± u--~i n g--~ e~~ce nd e n t--ef--S ~h~ o ls ~ _an~--the~C-a~r-rus-~oum%y--Sehoot--Boa~v~-a~--sueb Cabarrus County School Board, at a meeting duly convened and held on the 7th day of March, 1978, adopted a resolution supporting the closing of the said Wolf Meadow School Road, provided that suitable access is then provided to the Wolf Meadow Elementary School from Roberta Mill Road via State secondary road No. 1541 and an extension thereof; and WHEREAS, after a consideration of all relevant facts as pre- sented at this meeting and the interests and the welfare of the citizens of this county, it is the opinion of this Board of County Commissioners that the best interests of the people - of this county will be served by an abandonment and closing of the Wolf Meadow School Road (S~ate Road No. 1535) in its entirety (between U. S. Highway 29 and Roberta Mill Road; and WHEREAS, this Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that it is in the best interests of the county and its citizens to request that the North Carolina Department of Transportation abandon and permanently close the said Wolf Meadow School Road provided khat suitable access ms provided to the Wolf Meadow Elementary School from Roberta Mill Road via State Road No. 1541 and an extension thereof to the Board of Education's property line; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board of County Commzssioners does in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes Section 136-63 hereby request that the North Carolina Department of Transportation abandon and permanently close
