CENTRALINA COUNCIL oF GOVERNMENTS REPORT <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> Physical Plannins Activities <br /> <br /> -Worked with John Bammett and Charles McGinnis and obtained contract with <br /> Census Bureau for Block Statistics in 1980 Census. <br /> <br />-Worked with Jim Wilson and Bob Stark on numerous matters, including Block <br /> Statistics, Community Development, and Housing Planning for Concord. <br /> <br />-Worked with Frank Roberts on various matters including mapping help, Community <br />Development Program help, and Land Use and Housing Plans, and required Certi- <br />fication of same. <br /> <br />-WOrked with Harrisburg and they will be provided Block Statistics through the <br /> regional contract. <br /> <br /> A-95s Received or Si~ned Off in March <br /> <br /> None. <br /> <br /> Grants Assistance <br /> <br />-Responded to a request from Jim Wilson of Concord for funding (or any other <br />source of assistance) for a pay plan and position classification study for <br />the city. <br /> <br />-Met with representatives from Harrisburg to discuss several issues of concern <br />to the town: 1) how to develop a recreation program, 2) a meeting place for <br />the town council, 3) LEAA grant, problem with reporting, 4) how other towns <br />handle administrative matters and other areas of responsibility. <br /> <br />-Checked several potential sources of funding for construction of a new facility <br />to house several county operations for Cabarrus County, Discussed the $400,000 <br />available for match from NC Department of Natural Resources and Community Deve- <br />lopment. <br /> <br />-Provided information to Jim Wilson in Concord on several programs for minority <br />businessmen to assist and train minorities to handle contracts under federally <br />funded programs. <br /> <br />-Informed the Cabarrus County H.E.L.P. line of possible assistance from Community <br />Action in Atlanta. <br /> <br />-Responded to Frank Roberts on questions concerning Community Development. <br /> <br /> <br />
