In an area where there has traditionally been many different agencies involved <br />in pr6viding services, this planning process and data Couldhelp coordinate <br />aocial service~ planning in a county. It gives the opportunity to use common <br />data, common priocities, and a once a year plan to measure all social programs <br />against and to help make funding decisions. Even though it is primarily geared <br />to DSS plans and programs, it can be applicable to many other social programs. <br />Also,. DSSs are by law designed to function as the, or one of the, central social <br />serv{ce agancies in a county. <br /> <br />The staff will be working with most DSS staffs duzing November and December to <br />get the basic data and decision making information gathered. <br /> <br />Family Planning <br />The COGwill receive the fully executed contract between COG and DHS this week <br />amd forward subcontracta to the counties. We needed to have the finalized budgets <br />to include them in the subcontracts. <br /> <br />Local Health Department~' first quarter advances should be forthcoming the month <br />of November, and the expenditure reports have been submitted, although first <br />quarter expenditures are still needed from Mecklenburg and Union Counties. <br /> <br />The state has suggested that we add a par~ time person in family planning to help <br />with some of the more. technical/medical aspects of the family planning program for <br />the cemainder of the year. The COG will consider this request in mid November. <br />Since there is a serious question as to whether the femily planning program will <br />remain in the COG next year, or be put in the DHR regional office, it is not <br />expected that approval will be more than for the remainder of the fiscal year. <br /> <br />Manpower <br />The manpower staff has been finalizing the evaluation of the CETA Title I manpower <br />program for FY 1977. A copy of this evaluation will be p~ovided to managers <br />after the November RMAC meeting. <br /> <br />Aging <br />Centralina is presently being audited by the NC Department of Human Resources <br />Audit Section on it's aging program~ This audit em~ompasses not only our requmds <br />here at Centralina by the records maintained by local service projects. You can <br />expect a visit by these auditors within the next four to ~x weeks. 'The pefidd <br />being covered ia July 1, 1976 - September 30, 1977. <br /> <br /> <br />
