CABARRUS <br /> <br /> Physical Plannin~ Activities <br /> <br /> Reached agreement as to the part Centralina would play in Concord's annexation <br /> study. <br /> <br /> Continue preparing the County's Clone-out Report to HUD on the Community Deve- <br /> lopment Program. <br /> <br /> Public Safety Activities <br /> <br /> Met with Cabarrus County Police, Fire, and ~ergency Medical Services officials <br /> concerning the posnible implementation of 911 Central Telephone Emergency Number <br /> System. The meeting was held in conjunction withstaff members from the Division <br /> of Crime Control. <br /> <br />Met with Bud Richards~ Cabarrus Emergency Services Director and Chairman of the <br />Regional EMS Advisory Council, to finalize arrangements for the scheduled EMS <br />Council meeting and to review the ntatus of EMS planning within the region. <br /> <br />Met with Jerry Gwaltney, Concord City ~nager, Jack Moore, Police Chief, and <br />the Concocd Fire Chief to review the status of 911 within Cabarrus County. <br />The meeting was for informational purpones only. <br /> <br />Attended 911 meeting called by Charles McGlnnis. <br /> <br />Met with Bud Richards, Jerry Almond, Joe Shue about formula grant applicationn <br />from Cabarru$ County. <br /> <br />Delivered mannequins and monitored two CPR programs at Harrisburg Rescue. Picked <br />up training materials for the county ambulance service. <br /> <br />Developed an EMS memo of agreement for the Tow~ of Harrisburg. <br /> <br />Attended Mt. Pleasant and Harrisburg liaison meetingn. <br /> <br />Met with Concord City officials to discuss the 911 emergency mumber concept. <br /> <br />Human Services Activities <br /> <br />Title XX <br />The Title XX staff has been working with Mecklenburg and Rowan DSS departments <br />to help them project the level of demand for the various services they provide <br />with Title XX funds. This information will be used along with the survey data <br />to be provided by NC State for the necond year in preparing their Social Service <br />Plan to submit to the county the first of the year. <br /> <br />The COG staff is available to provide the data and to assint the DSS ntaff in <br />presenting information on the needs and problems of each County. These presenta- <br />tions can be to DSS boards, county officials or other social service planning <br />groups to help set priorities for the coming year. The data is sufficiently <br />broad to be useful in setting social service priorities for many of all of the <br />social agencies in the county~ if the county so desires. <br /> <br /> <br />
