BYLAWS <br /> <br /> CABARRUS OOUNTY COUNCIL ON THE STATUS OP WOMEN <br /> <br /> ARTICLE I - NAME <br /> <br /> The name of this organization shall be the Cabarrua County <br /> Council on the Status of Women. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE II - PURPOSE <br /> <br /> The purpose of this Council shall be: <br /> <br /> 1. To identify the status of women in Cabsrrus County by <br /> assembling existing information, conducting original <br /> research and/or using other appropriate means; <br /> <br /> To disseminate information on the status of women; <br /> <br />3. To advise and recommend appropriate action reagarding <br /> the status of women to the Cabarrus County Board of <br /> Commissioners and other governmental bodies; <br /> <br />4. To promote development of the potential of each woman; <br /> <br />5. To increase public understanding of the problems, needs <br /> and abilities of wQmen and to serve as a clearinghouse <br /> of information regarding the aforementioned. <br /> <br /> ARTIOLE IlI- M~BERS <br /> <br />Section 1. Number and Qualifications. The Council shall con- <br /> sist of fifteen members, and shall include both <br /> women and men, all of whom shall be residents of <br /> Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Section 2. Appointment. Members shall be appointed by the <br /> Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br />Section 3. Terms. No member shall serve more than five consecutive <br /> years. <br /> <br />Section 4. Eligibility for Reappointment. A member may be re- <br /> appointed after a year's absence. <br /> <br />Section 5. Replacement of Members. The Council shall recom- <br /> mend to'~the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> at least two persons, who shall have agreed to accept <br /> the nomination, for any vacancy whieh may occur. <br /> <br /> <br />
