The course is designed to teach f~re fighters ~o <br />exmmine a building during a noma~ situation and gaLu the kn~;:ledge <br />of any special hazards v,,hich might be a hinderance during a fire. <br />Fire Saf_~ T~iD - Kitchen fires if handled i~properly can be very <br />dangerous and costly. ~ar6~ people have s~ffered painful burns because <br />of panic when a oan of grease catches fire. Should this happen to you· <br />simply cut off the appliance and smother the fire with a lid or wet <br />to,vel. Smothering vorks equslly well on an oven fire. Just close the <br />door, then turn the switch off. In all eases notify the fire department <br />of the fire then put it out.
