CABARRUS COUNTY
Department of Social Services

Concord. North Carolina 28025
September 20, 1977

Mr. Charles McGinnis, County ~nager
Post Office Box 707
Concord, North Carolina 28025

Dear Mr. McGinnis:

We are requesting your approval and assistance for an additional Social
Work position. This can be included in our Title III Program through the
Centralina Council of Governments. We would like to use this position to
develop and direct a Senior Citizens Center now being renovated by the
City of Concord in the old Logan School complex. Since we do not have a
Senior Center in Cabarrus County, there is community interest in this
being developed as a resource for our older adults. While it may seem
localized at this location, we assure you that one of our goals in de-
veloping this Center will be to make it available and accessible re all
of the people in Cabarrus County.

Therefore, we are in need of County funds in the amount of $1593.40.
Your interest and efforts in helping us to obtain this money will be
greatly appreciated and you will be making a tremendous contribution to
the unmet needs of our older adults in this County.

Sincerely,

(firs.)
Frances B. Long
Director

FBL:bsh
