Box 707 <br /> Concord, NC 28025 <br /> <br /> Dear Mr. McGinnis: <br /> <br /> The following paragraphs appear in the Charter of the Centralina Council of <br /> <br /> ITEM V ITEM V <br /> Representation: <br /> k. Each member governmental unit shall be represented in the Council <br /> by one delegate er in his absence by a designated alternate, if any. <br /> All delegates and alternates shall be elected members of the governing <br /> bodies of the member goverumental units they represent. The delegates <br /> · and alternates, as well as their successors, shall be elected by the <br /> member governing bodies in any manner consistent with law and the <br /> regulations governing such body, and their names shall be certified to <br /> the Council in the manner prescribed by the Bylaws of the Council. Each <br /> governmental unit may designate any number of alternate delegates. <br /> <br /> B. The term of office of each delegate shall commence upon the date <br /> of his appointment and certification to the Council by the governing <br /> body of the member governmental unit he represents; and such term <br /> shall automatically expire December 31 following such appointment, <br /> unless he shall sooner resign, cease to be an elected member of said <br /> governing body, or be removed as a delegate by said governing body, <br /> in which case his term shall expire on the effective date o~ such <br /> event. Each member ahall certify to the Council the names of its <br /> delegate and any alternate(s) prior to the first Council meeting of <br /> the calendar year. Only an individual who has been duly appointed <br /> and certified to the Council as a delegate or alternatemay be per- <br /> mitted to vote in any matter. --- . <br /> <br /> Please send us the name of you~ government's Delegate for 1978, and any <br /> Alternates you wish to designate. Many goverements designate all of their <br /> Beard members (other than the Delegate) as Alternates. If you do that, <br /> please specify by number which is the first Alternate, second Alternate, <br /> A <br /> <br /> q <br /> <br /> ! <br /> <br /> <br />
