A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE_UNITED STATES <br /> DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE TO DESIGNATE CABARRUS <br /> COUNTY AS A REDEVELOPMENT AREA UNDER THE <br /> PUBLIC WORKS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACT <br /> OF 1965 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS Cabarrus County, North Carolina qualified as a'redevelopment <br />area under the Public Works and Economic'Development Act of 1965, as <br />amended; a~d <br /> <br /> WHEREAS Cabarrus County recognizes a need to conduct Public Works <br />and other programs as provided for under the Public Works and Economic <br />Development ACt of 1965, as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Overall EConomic Development Planning Committee has <br />examined and duly considered such Act and the Overall Economic Development <br />Planning committee Considers it to be in the public interest and co its <br />benefit to file a request for designation as a Redevelopment Area under <br />said Act, and to authorize other action in connection therewith. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE OVERALL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />PLANNING COMMITTEE OF CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, that the County <br />requests that it be designated a Redevelopment Area under the provisions <br />of the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965, as amended, <br />and hereby expresses intent to take action necessary to develop an <br />acceptable over-all economic development program for Cabarrus County and <br />to implement the same to the extent it is approved by the Secretary of <br />Commeroe. <br /> <br /> This resolution adopted after motion, second and roll call vone <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Chairman Pressley aye <br /> <br /> Vice-Chairman Moss absent and not voting <br /> Member Cranford absent and not voting <br /> Member Isenhour aye <br /> <br /> Member Cook aye <br /> <br /> Member Fleming seconded and aye <br /> Member Foster motioned and aye <br /> <br />Dated: ~ovember 29, 1977 <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />Peggy D.
