A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE UNITED STATES <br /> DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE TO DESIGNATE CABARRUS <br /> COUNTY AS A REDEVELOPMENT AREA UNDER THE <br /> PUBLIC WORKS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACT <br /> OF 1965 <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS Cabarrus County, North Carolina qualified as a redevelopment <br /> area under the Public Works and Economic Developmenn Act of 1965, as <br /> amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS Cabarrus County recognizes a need to conduct Public Works <br /> and other programs as provided for under the Public Works and Economic <br /> Development Act of 1965, as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has examined and duly <br /> considered such Act and the Board of County Commissioners considers it <br /> to be in the public interest and to its benefit to file a request for <br /> designation as a Redevelopment Area under said Act, and to aUthorize <br /> dther action in connection therewith. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, that the County requests that it be <br />designated a Redevelopment Area under the provisions of the Public Works <br />and Economic Development Act of 1965, as amended, and hereby expresses <br />intent to take action necessary to develop an acceptable over-all <br />economic development program for Cabarrus County and to implement the <br />same to the extent it is approved by the Secretary of Com~nerce. <br /> <br /> This resolution adopted after motion, second and roll call vote <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hawfield <br /> Commissioner McClary <br /> Commissioner Cook <br /> 'Commissioner Hammet <br /> Commissioner Milloway <br /> <br />Dated: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />Patsy Moser BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />Clerk to the Board of CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />County Commissioners <br /> <br /> By: <br /> Clerk S.
