Commis ~ioners select or agree upon; and whereas the Board of Commissioners of C ~unty County in its discretion, has determined that an agreement with the County of Union f. r the ca 'e and maintenance of the poer and infirm of the County of Cabarrus Would be of benefib to the taxpayers of said County of Cabarrus; and whereas the County of mainta ms a county home and provides therein the care and maintenance of such p~or and infirm of the County of Union;. and whereas the said County of Union, through it Board of Com lissioners has offered to care for and maintain in the County Home ef sai of Uni)n the said poor and infirm of the County of Cabarrus at a per capita cost in ex cess o the cost of per capit~ maintenance of its own poor and infirm, but a a per cap~ ~a cost 1 ss than the present costs of care and maintenance now being paid by the county f I Cabarr~s for its po~r and infirm; NOW THEREFORE it is mutually agreed between the parties hereto as follows: (1) That the County of Union will care for and maintain, the poor and in~irm of the cc zuty of Cabarrus by providing such poor and infirm with quarters, food, clothing and me iicines, in the County Home of the Couty of Union on the samebasis and s~andard as ths furnished to the inmate~ from said County of Union. (2) That the county of Cabarrus, for and in consideration of said services to b rendez ~d by said county of Union, agreestto pay to said County of Union the sum of Fifty dollar ($50.00) per month per ir~aate from Cabarrus Co,~y ; and said County of Union agrees to accept such compensation for the services to be rendered by said Counby of Union. (3) That the county of Cabarrus agrees to pay all expense of hospitalization, inclu~ ~ng transportation', for its said inmates. Such ir~ate~ fromsaid Ca~arrus ~ounty are to be placed in hospitals only upon recommendation of the Health Officer of the Count2 of Union~ and such inmates shall be $ospitalized in Cabarrus County~Hos~ital, except when an emergency makes it impracticable. (4) That Cabarrus County will pay all burial expenses of its inmates. (5). That immates from the County of Ca ~arrus shall be received only upo~ lette~ of auti~orizabion signed by the Superintendent of Public Welfare of the county o Cabar~ us. (6) That if and when an inmate from the County of Cabarrus shall ~ecome entall'. deran~ ~d to the extent that such inmate becomes a State charge and isnacceptahl to on. of th~ State Hospitals for the insane, said County of Cabarrus agrees to remove such inmate from the County Home o£ the Couty of Union. (7) That it is agreed by the parties hereto that the Superintendent of PAblic Welfar~ of the County of ~abarrus shall visit the County Home of the Cou~z%y of Union with t~ e Superintendent of Public Welfare of the County of Union, at least one ~ime every ~hirty days.
