At a special meeting of the County Commissioners held Nay 1, 1951 with the following members pre- <br />sent: J. Lee V~nite, chairman, Homer L. Fink, L. Bowman Barrier, M. Smoot Lyles , and P. Ernest <br />Stallings. <br /> <br />Absent- none <br /> <br />Motion by Homer L. Fink seconded by M. Smoot Lyles that Dr. J. Roy Hege be authorized to go ahead <br /> <br />with plans to erect a new Health Department Building. <br /> <br /> Le%ter- <br /> <br /> The Medical Care Commission of North Carolina <br /> <br /> Raleigh, North Carolina <br /> <br /> Attention: Dr. John A. Ferrell, Executive Secretary <br /> <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> <br /> We the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County hereby respectfully <br /> <br /> request The North Carolina Medical Care Commission to grant Cabarrus County <br /> such Federal and State funds, as are available to it for distribution, for <br /> the purpose of constructing and furnishing a building to house the Cabarrus <br /> County Health Department. <br /> <br /> We agree to provide not less 'than 37.6% of the required funds to build and <br /> furnish the size building necessary to adequately house the local Health <br /> Department. <br /> <br /> We agree to provide the necessary land upon which to build the quarters of <br /> <br /> the Health Department and offer t he land formerly used by the cotton weigher <br /> <br /> of Cabarrus County, commonly known as the cotton pSatform. This land comprises <br /> <br /> one acre more or less and lies adjacent to the Cca nty Building. We understand <br /> <br /> this site is to meet the approval of The North Carolina Medical Care Commission <br /> as to location and area, and request that you proceeds to make such inspection <br /> and approval at your convenience. <br /> <br /> We further agree to such restrictions as to the use of the building and grounds <br /> <br /> for Health Department purposes, for a period of 20 years as required by The North <br /> <br /> Carolina Medical Care Commission. <br /> <br /> Yours Very truly, <br /> <br /> John R. Fink that the resolution requesting the Board <br />of Commissioners for the county of Cabaz-~s to reallo~cate some money of school building bonds to <br />erect addition to Sha~kletown School. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF <br /> COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF CiLBARRUS <br /> TO RE~T.LOCA~ $39,480 OF THE PROCEEDS <br /> <br /> OF SCHOOL BUILDINGBONDS TO ERECT ADDITION <br /> <br /> TO SHANKLETOV~ SCHOOL. <br /> <br /> <br />
