<br /> Commissioner M. Smoot Lyles introduced the followin~ bond order which was read:

<br /> RE IT OREE~ED AND RESOLVED by th~ Board of Commissioners for the County. ~ Sa~rus:

<br /> 1. That ~ ~_n~ds of~heCo~.u~_ty ~f Ca_~b~r~ r~$,N~rth C$~ol'.zpa~ ~ shall be issued, ~pu~aut to The
<br /> County Finance Act, as amended, in an amount not exceeding $20,000 for the purpose of refunding
<br /> a like amount of the principal of valid subsisting bonded indebtedness of said County which was
<br /> incurred before January 1, 1929 for the construction of roads and bridges in said County and is
<br /> evidenced by the following:

<br /> $20,000 Road and Bridge Bonds, dated June 1, 1924,maturing June 1, 1955.
<br />
<br /> 2. T~t bon~s of the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, shall be issued, purs--~t to the
<br /> County Finance Act, as amended, in an amount not exceeding $4,000 for the purpose of refunding a ike
<br /> amount of the pr~ipal of valid subsist~ bonded indebtedness of said County which was incurre~
<br /> for necessary expenses of said Coun%y and is evidenced by the following:
<br /> $4,000 9ourthouse Bonds, dated March 1, 1953, maturing March 1, 1955.

<br /> 3. That bonds of ~ ~t~e County of Cabarrus, North 0~O!~, sE1 be issued, pu~ant ~ the
<br /> County Finance Ac~' as amended, in an amount not exceeding $61,0OO for the purpose of refunding
<br /> a like amount of the p~al of ~alid suhsisting~ bonded .indebtedness of said Counky~ which was
<br /> origir~_lly incurred by the oard of Commissioners (as an administrative agent of the State in
<br /> providing a State_ sys~em of p~blic schools) for maintaiu~g the constitutional si~mmths.! ~.school
<br /> term and is evidenced by the following:
<br /> $15,000 School Bui~ Bonds, dated Dec ember 1, 1937, maturing December 1, 1~54~
<br /> $ 1,000 School Buildin~ Bond, d~ated jUne 1, 1942, maturing June 1, 1955,
<br /> $ 6,000 School Building ~onds, dated No~ember 1, 1945, maturing Ma~ 1, 1955,
<br /> $16,O00 School Building onds,Series A, dated September 1, 1948, maturing March 1, 1955,
<br /> ~10,0OO School Building Bonds,Series B, dated Sept"tuber 1, 1948,~ maturing March 1, 1955,
<br /> ~ 8,000 School Building Bonds, Series C, dated September 1, 1948, maturing March 1, 1955,
<br /> $ 5,000 Refunding School Bonds, dated September 1, 1953, maturing March 1, 1955.

<br /> 4. That a tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest of the $85,000 bonds' herein autE rized
<br /> when due, shall be annually levied and collected.
<br />
<br /> 5. That the holders of the $85,000 bonds herein authorized shall be subrogated to all the
<br /> rights and powers of t~ holders of the indebtedness refunded thereby.
<br />
<br /> 6. That a stat_.~m~ ~£ th~ Co~ty debt has been ~f-te~ with~ the clerk amd is open~ to pabt-tc n-
<br /> spection.
<br />
<br /> 7 That this order shall take effect upon its ~ passage and shall not be submitted to the
