513' <br /> <br /> (a) That 38~991 voters were registered and qualified to vote. <br /> <br /> (b) That st said election 1~949 votes were cast in favor of the approval of the order <br /> authorizing the County of Cabarrus to contract a debt and incidence thereof to issue not <br /> exceeding $2,630,000 School Building Bonds of the County of Cabarrus for the purpose of providing <br /> funds, with any other funds available for such purpose, for erecting an additional school building <br /> and additional school plant facilities, remodeling and enlarging existing school buildings and <br /> acquiring necessary land and equipment therefor in order to provide additional etamentary and <br /> secondary school facilities in the County of Cabarrus to maintain the six months' school term in <br /> said County aS required bySection 3 of Article IX of the Constitution, and authorizing the levy <br /> and collection of a sufficient tax for the payment of the principal of and the interest on said <br /> bonds, and 460 votes were cast against said order, that a majority of the qualified voters of s~td <br /> County who voted thereon at said election votes in favor of said order, and that said order was <br /> the~by approved and is in force and effect. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner M Smoot Lyles, seconded by Commissioner P. Ernest Stallings, the <br /> foregoing resolution entitled:" RESOLUTION CANVASS~[?~G THE RE'tURNS OF THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION <br /> HELD SEPTEM ~ER lC, 1955 AND DETERMINING ANDDECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF" was passed by the <br /> following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Commissioners, Chairman J. Lee White, and Commissioners M.Smoot Lyles, P. Ernest <br /> <br /> Stallings and W.Frank McCray. <br /> Noes: None <br /> <br /> Thereupon Commissioner M.Smoot Lyles introduced the followSng resolution which was read: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ADOPTING A STATEMENT OF T~TE RESULT OFTHE SPECIAL BOND ELECT-~ON <br /> HELD SEPT~BER. lC, 19~, AND ?ROVIDING FORTHE RECO~OZNG, FILING AND <br /> PUBLISATION THEREOF <br /> <br /> BE IT ~ESOEVED By the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br />Section 1.
