513' (a) That 38~991 voters were registered and qualified to vote. (b) That st said election 1~949 votes were cast in favor of the approval of the order authorizing the County of Cabarrus to contract a debt and incidence thereof to issue not exceeding $2,630,000 School Building Bonds of the County of Cabarrus for the purpose of providing funds, with any other funds available for such purpose, for erecting an additional school building and additional school plant facilities, remodeling and enlarging existing school buildings and acquiring necessary land and equipment therefor in order to provide additional etamentary and secondary school facilities in the County of Cabarrus to maintain the six months' school term in said County aS required bySection 3 of Article IX of the Constitution, and authorizing the levy and collection of a sufficient tax for the payment of the principal of and the interest on said bonds, and 460 votes were cast against said order, that a majority of the qualified voters of s~td County who voted thereon at said election votes in favor of said order, and that said order was the~by approved and is in force and effect. Upon motion of Commissioner M Smoot Lyles, seconded by Commissioner P. Ernest Stallings, the foregoing resolution entitled:" RESOLUTION CANVASS~[?~G THE RE'tURNS OF THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD SEPTEM ~ER lC, 1955 AND DETERMINING ANDDECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF" was passed by the following vote: Ayes: Commissioners, Chairman J. Lee White, and Commissioners M.Smoot Lyles, P. Ernest Stallings and W.Frank McCray. That the Board of Commissioners has prepared and does adopt the following statement of the result of the special bond election held in the County of Caba'rus ~n September l0 955: ST~TEM~,~T OF RES~T of SPECIAL BOND ELECTION held in the COUNTY OF C^BARRUS, NORTU CAROLINA on September lC, 1955 At a special bond election held throughout the County of Cabarrus, North Carolimm, September 10, 195~, 38,991 voters were registered and qualified to vote.'
