At the regular monthly meeting of the Cabarrus County Commissioner, the Board met at <br /> <br /> lO:O0 A M at the Courthouse on January 6, 1958 withthe following members present: <br /> Chairman- W. Frank McCzay <br /> <br /> Commissioners: L Bowman Barrier, P.Ernest Stallings, W.Guy Isenhou~ and M. Omoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Motion made by L. Bowman Barrier seconded by M.Smoot Lyles that the following road petitio ~s <br /> <br />be passed and mailed to the State Highway and ~ublic Works Comm. in Albemarle, N.C.: <br /> No. 2 Township- Old Concord Road - Pave and maintain <br /> <br /> No. 4 Township - Sophia Ave. - Put on highway system and maintain <br /> No. h Township - Lefler Street- grade and gravel <br /> No. ll Township - Trantham Avenue- Maintain <br /> <br /> No. ~ Township - Virginia Avenue - Scrape and gravel <br /> <br /> No. 4 Township - Pennsylvania Avenue - Take over and maintain <br /> <br /> No. ll '~'ownship - GardenTerrace - Gravel <br /> <br /> Motion made by M. Smoot Lyles, seconded by P.Ernest Stallings that C.B. Hudson, of <br />Helen D~ive, Concord, N.C. be exempt from Poll Tax for the year 1958 on account of being blind. <br /> <br /> Motion by L.Bowman Barier, seconded by P.Ernest Stallings that two telephones be installed <br />in the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department for all calls for rural fires in the County- Kannapoli: <br />is not included. The numbers will be ST2-2123 and $T~-212~ <br /> <br /> Motion by L.Bowman Barrie~ seconded byP.E~nest Stallings, that the £ollowing resolution <br /> was unanimously passed: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR CABARRUS OOUNTY REQUESTING <br /> A SPECIAL T~RM OF SUPERIOR COURT FOR THE TRL~L OF CRIMINAL CASES <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners for CabarrusCounty, ~ozth <br /> <br /> Carolina in meeting assembled January 6, 1958, that there ~ such an accumulation ~f criminal <br /> actions in the Superior Court for this County as to require the holding of a Special Term for <br /> its dispatch and the HonorableJ.Wallace ~inborne, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North <br /> Carolina is hereby requested to order a Special Term of Superior Court for the trial of criminal <br /> cases for the week beginning Monday, March 2~, 1958. <br /> <br /> This the 6th day of January, 1958. <br /> <br /> Motion by M.Smoot Lyles, seconded by W.Guy Isenhour that the follosing resolution <br /> <br /> calling said election be passed: <br /> <br /> PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY O F CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLS, ~ <br /> IN REGULAR SESSION AT THE COURTHOUSE IN .CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA, THE REGULAR PLACE OF MEETING, AT <br /> lO:O00':CLO~K A.
