On Thursday, February 20, 1958, at eleven o'clock A M. the members of t~ Board of Commissioners <br />Dot the County of Cabarzus, North Carolina,met at the courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, <br />for the purpose of canvassing and judicially determining the results of a Special Local Tax <br />Election held on the 18th day of February, 1958, pursuant to resolution theretofoze adopted by <br />said Board entitled "Resolution Calling a ~pecial Local Tax ~'lection to Increase a Previously <br />Voted ~pplemental Tax Rate for School Purposes in the Concord City zdministrative School Unit." <br />All members of the Board we~epresent. <br /> <br /> At the aforesaid meeting t~e following proceedings were had: <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, received from the <br />Registrars and Judges of election in the various precincts of the Concord City Administrative <br />School Unit the returns of the Special Local Tax Election held onFe~ruazy 18, 1958. <br /> <br /> After said zeturns~ had been canvassed by said Board of Commissioners, Commissioner M.Smoot <br /> <br />~yles intzoducmd the following resolution which was read: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL LOCAL TAX ELECTION HELD <br /> FEBRUARY 18, 1958, AND DETERMINING AND DECLARING ~HE RESULTS THEREOF <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the returns of the Special Local Tax Election held on February 18, 1958 <br /> <br />having been received from the proper election officials and the Board having canvassed the same, <br /> <br />the following facts are hereby found and determined: <br /> <br /> (a) That each registrar and judge for the Special Local Tax Election held in the Concord <br /> <br />City Administzatsve School Unit onFebzua~y 18, 1958, was duly qualified by law and had taken the <br />negessary oath. <br /> <br /> (b) That the election officials had incorporated in their returns not only the number of <br /> <br />votes cast for and against the question submitted, but also the number of voters registered <br /> <br />and qualified to vote in each precinct in t he election. <br /> <br /> (c) That at ~aid election there was submitted to the qualified voters of said County the <br />following question: <br /> <br /> Shall there be levied, in addition to presently levied supplemental tax rate, <br /> an additional maximum annual tax of twenty cents (20¢) on the one hundred dollars <br /> (~lO0) valuation o£ taxable property, zeal and personal, in the Concord City <br /> Administrative Oc~ool Unit to further supplement current school expense funds in <br /> said Unit?" <br /> <br /> Section 2.
