<br /> Commissioner P.Ernest Stallings introduced the following resolution which was read:

<br /> RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE ANNEXATION OF ADDITIONAL ?~
<br /> TERRITORY TO THE PARKWOOD SANITARY DISTRICT IN
<br /> CABARRUS COUNTY, THE CALLING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION
<br /> AND T HE HOLDING OF A NEW REGISTRATION WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES
<br /> OF SUCH ADDITIONAL TERRITORY.

<br /> WHEREAS, the following resolution, passed by the Sanitary District Board of Parkwood
<br />Sanitary District on September 16, 1958, has been received by the Board of Commissioners for the
<br />County of Cabarrus:

<br />WHEREAS, the following petition for the extension of the boundaries of the Par kwood
<br />Sanitary District, inCabarrus County, NorthCa~olina, has been received by the Sanitary District
<br />Board of Parkwood Sanitary District:

<br /> PETITION FOR EXTENSION OF THE BOUNDARIES OF THE PARKWOOD SANITARY DISTRICT
<br /> IN CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA
<br />To the Sanitary District Board of Parkwood Sanitary DistriCt, the Board of Commissioners for the
<br />County of Cabarrus and the North Carolina State Board of Health.

<br /> We, the undersigned, being resident freeholders within the hereinafter described
<br />territory, respectfully Petition the Sanitary District Board of Parkwood Sanitary District ,
<br />the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North C~rolina, within which County said
<br />territory is located, and the No~th Carolina State Board of Health for the extension of the
<br />boundaries of the Parkwood Sanitary District, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, a nd the taking
<br />of all proceedings necessary t o annex said territory and include thesame within the boundaries of
<br />said Parkwood Sanitary District, including the holding of an election upon the subject Sf annexatio
<br />within the territory to be annexed, under the authority of and in accordance with Article 12 of
<br />Ghapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, as amended, and particularly Section
<br />ld8 thereof.
<br /> The purpose of this petition is to institute proceedings for the annexation of the
<br />territory hereinafter described to said Parkwood Sanitary District so that said District
<br />shall include said territory within its boundaries and so that water and sewarage facilities and
<br />other services which said Sanitary District is authorized to provide may be provided in said
<br />territory, which ajoins said Parkwood Sanitary District and is in need of such facilities and servil es
<br /> The boundaries of the territory to be annexed toa nd included in t he Parkwood S~nitary
<br />District are as follows:

<br /> Beginning at a point in the center of the Concord-Kannapolis Highway, said point being
<br />150 feet north of the northern boundary of Winecoff School Road, a~d running thence in two courses
<br />150 fget from and parallel with the northern boundary Sf Winecoff School Road, South 89 degrees
<br />West 900 feet, South 55 deg zees ~est llTO feet more or less to a point 150 feet north of the
<br />northern boundary of ~inecoff School Road and 150 fe~t west of the western boundary of Linker
<br />Street extended; thence a line in two courses 150 feet from and parallel with the western boundary
<br />of ~inker Street, South 21 1/2 degrees East 550 feet, South 29 degrees East 625 feet moreor less;
<br />thence a line 1~0 feet from and parallel with the southern boundary of Stewart Street North 72 1/2
<br />degrees East 860 fe~t to a point 150 feet from the western boundary of School Street extended;
<br />thence a line 150 feet from and parallel ~o the western boundary of School ~treet extended °outh 20
<br />degrees East 390 feet; thence North 33 1/2 degrees East 550 feet moreor less; thence a line 250
<br />feet from and parallel totthe western boundary of theConcord-Kannapolis Highway North 15 1/2 degree:
<br />West 650 feet; thence North 85 1/2 degrees East 265 feet toapoint in the center of the Concord
<br />Kannapolis Highway; thence with the center of said Highway North 14 1/2 degrees Wesi 900 feet more
<br />oz less to the point of beginning.
