The Board of Commissioners fo! the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, met in xegulaz <br />session at l0 o'clock A M., Febrary 2, 1959, at the Couzthouse in Concord, North Carolina, <br />the usual place oE meeting. <br /> <br /> Present: ChaPman W. Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Commissioners: M.~moot ~yles, L Bowman Barrier, W. Guy Isenhoum and P Ernest Stallings. <br /> Absent: None. <br /> <br /> Commissioner M Smoot Lyles introduced the following resolution which was ~ead: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING, RATIFYING AND C~FI~MING A <br /> RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE BOARD CF GOMMISSIONERS <br /> FOR THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS ENTITLED:"RESOLUTION <br /> CONCERNING THE ANNEXATION CF ADDITIONAL TERRITORY TO <br /> THE PARKWO~ SANITARY DISTRZC~T IN CABARRU$ CONNT~' <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus that a resolution <br />passed bythe Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus after a public hearing held <br />jointly with W.S. McKimmonand Marshall Staton, representatives of the North Carolina State Board <br />of Health, on January 19, 1959, at the Winecoff School in Cabarrus County, ~hich resolution is in <br />the following words and figures, be and the same is here by approved, xatified and confirmed: <br /> <br /> "RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE ANNEXATION OF ADDITIONAL <br /> TERRITORY TO THE PARKWOOD SANITARY DISTRICT IN CABARR~S <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a petition requesting the annexation of additional territory, described in said <br />ps tition, to the Parkwood Sanitary District Yn Cabarzus County and the holding of an election <br />upon the subject of such annexation within the territory p~oposed to be annexed has been pre- <br />sented to the Sanitary District Board of Parkwood Sanitary District, the Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of Cabazrus and t~e North ~Cazolina State Board of Health; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Sanitary District Board of said Parkwood Sanitary Distr~ct has approved <br /> <br />such petition; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on December 6, 1958 a majority of the qualified registered voters within the <br />boundaries of the following territory: <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at a point in the center of the Concord-Kannapolis Highway, said point <br />being 150 feet north of the nozthern boundary of Winecoff School Road, aS ~unning thsnce in <br />two couzses 150 feet from and parallel with the northern boundary of Winecoff School Road, South <br />89 degrees WeSt 900 feet, South 55 degrees West ll70 feet more o~ less to a point 150 feet north <br />of the northern boundary of Winecoff School Hoad and 150 feet west of the western boundary of <br />Linker Street extended; thence a line in two courses 150 feet from and parallel with the western <br />boundary of ".inker Street,oouth 21 1/2 degrees East 550 feet, South 29 degzees East 625 feet more <br />or less; thence a line l~0~feet from and parallel with the southern boundary of Stewart Street <br />No~th 72 1/2 degrees East 860 feet to a point 150 feet from the western boundary of School Street <br />extended; thence a line 150 feet from and parallel to the western boundary of School Street <br />extended South 20 degrees Mast 390 feet; thence North 33 1/2 degrees East 550 feet more o! less; <br />thence a line 250 feet from and parallel ~o the western boundary of t~s Concord-Kannapolis Highway <br />North 15 1/2 degrees West 650 feet; thence No~th 85 1/2 degrees East 265 feet to a point in the <br />center of the Concord-Kannapolis Highway; thence wi~h the center of said Highway North lh 1/2 <br />degrees West 900 feet mo~e or less to the point of Beginning, <br /> <br />who voted onthe proposition of the annexation of said territory to said Parkwood Sanitary District <br />voted in favor of such proposition; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, if said territory should be annexed to and included within the boundaries of said <br />Pazkwood Sanitary District, then the boundaries of said Pazkwood Sanitary Distxict will bs as <br />fo llows$= <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at a point in the cente~ of the OoncoZd-Kannapolis Highway, saidpoint being <br />150 feet noxth of the northexn boundary of ~inecoff School Road, and runningthence in two coumses <br />150 feet from and parallel with the northern bou~a~y of ~inecoff School Road, South 89 degrees <br /> West 900 feet, South 5W5 degree~ West ~170 feet mozeoz less to a~point ~50 f~eet north <br /> northern boundary of inecoff chool aoad and 150 feet west of zne weszern oouncazy <br /> <br /> <br />
