167 <br /> <br /> ., The Cabarrus County C~mi~s$ioners~· met at their regular meeting on Monday, June 3, 1963, <br />at 10:OO A.M. at the Courth~se. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairman, Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Smoot Lyles, Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James and Rev. Bruce Cosby led in prayer. Minutes of <br />the last meeting were read and stand approved. <br /> <br /> Jerry Cook with Recordak Corp. in Charlotte came before the board to discuss filming records <br />in Register of Deeds, Tax Office and etc. Commissioners agreed to consider this further. No <br />decision reached at this time. <br /> <br /> Sam W. Pressley representing Linn Mills, Inc. asked the board to revaluate the Linn Mills <br />property. Total valuation now on books is $271,000. True value is $323,000 and 40% of this <br />should be $129,O00 according to Mr. Pressley. Commissioners agreed to check into this matter <br />and advise him at a later date. <br /> <br /> J. D. Baucom, Vice President of the Poplar Tent Fire Dept. asked the board to vote to <br /> <br />establish the boundary area for the Poplar Tent Fire Dept. McCray made motion, seconded by Petrea. <br />to grant them the territory asked for if it was agreeable with other Fire Depts. Vote carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> Dr. Workman asked the Board if decision was reached on Health Dept. Budget. Mr. James <br /> <br />stated no decision has been reached at this time. Dr. Workman also asked for twelve (12) <br />transcribers, one for each nurse, also replacement of multilithe machine. Approx. cost of this <br />replacement is $1800. The transcribers were to cost approx. $250. each. The above mas not <br />included in original budget. Dr. Workman was advised the commissioners would let him know later. <br /> <br /> E. W. B~dgood asked commissioner for authorization to repair the dials and dial shafts on <br />the tower clock in the Cabar, rus County Courthouse. The total amount for this job is $360. Oren <br />Hill made motion, seconded by~etrea to accept this repair on the tower clock for the sum of <br />$360. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> B. B. Ledbetter requested Board to grant him permission to purchase a peddlers license for <br />Cabarrus County. Lyles made motion, seconded by Hill to give Mr. Ledbetter permission to secure <br />this license. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Hill to reappoint Ralph Litaker Tax Supervisor for two years. <br />Voted For:: Hill, Petrea, James, Abstained from voting : Lyles, McCray <br /> <br /> <br />
