The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at a call meeting Wednesday, <br /> <br /> May 25, 1966 at 10:00 a.m. at the Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> Commissioners, McNeil Petrea, Oren Hill, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br />\ <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Bids were opened for new <br /> sheriff's cars. They are as follows: ~ <br /> <br /> Concord Motors 2 cars .... exchange-- $2502.62 <br /> Piedmont Chevrolet-- " " $2795.54 <br /> Dewitt Motors no bid <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Hill to grant Concord Motors the bid for <br /> <br /> two new cars. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Bids for tires, tubes, recaps and batteries are as follows: <br /> <br /> Redmond Tire Service--- tires--S16.95 and $17.46(for heavy duty police) ~ <br /> tubes--- 1.18 <br /> recaps-- 6.95 (Includes balancing and mounting) <br /> <br /> Austin Bros. Tire Co. the <br /> <br /> bid for tires, tubes, recaps, and batteries. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> The only bid received for gasoline for Sheriff's cars was Carolina Oil Co. <br /> <br /> Gasoline 2¢ per gal. off posted retail price <br /> motor oil 55¢ per quart <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Hill to grant Carolina Oil Co. the bid for <br /> gas and motor oil. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Bids received for fuel oil are as follows: <br /> <br /> Mutual Oil Co. .1160 per gal <br /> Central Dist. Co.---,10716 net subject to increase or decrease <br /> Carolina Oil Co.----,1149 or 15¢ per gal less 3.51¢ per gal. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by McCray to grant Central Dist. Co. the bid <br /> for #2 fuel oil. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> O.K. Lunch was granted the bid for meals for prisoners at 45¢ per meal. <br /> Daniel & Daniel submitted a contract for auditing the county books. The <br /> price not to exceed $3000. Hill made motion, seconded by Petrea to acceDt this <br /> contract. Voted for: Hill, Petrea, James, ~Cray, Abstained from voting: Lyles <br /> <br /> <br />
