McCray made motion, <br /> <br /> seconded by Petrea to accept this bid. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hurt, County Accountant, stated the Health Dept. requested a new IBM <br /> <br /> typewriter for a cost of $481.50. Commissioners referred this request to the <br /> <br /> Health Board for decision . <br /> <br /> Mr. Brite Willeford, representing Hilbish Motor Co., presented the following ~ <br /> <br /> resolution: Lyles made motion to adopt same, seconded by Petrea. Vote carried. <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> To the Chairman of the North Chroliha State Highway Commission: <br /> That whereas a Petition has been presented to the Board of County Commissioners <br /> of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, on this date by Fredrick G. Hilbish and wife <br /> Alice M. Hilbish, citizens of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, for the abandonmenti <br /> of aportion of Oklahoma Avenue located on the west side of Cannon Boulevard and <br /> U. S. Highway' 29 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, and further requesting that <br /> the Board of Commissioners request the abandonment of said road located in the <br /> secondary system. <br /> And whereas after investigation, it appears that the matters and things set <br /> forth in said Petition are true, a copy of which Petition is hereto attached. <br /> (Petition has been filed in Commissioners files) <br /> And whereas it is the opinion of the Board of County Commissioners of <br /> Cabarrus County that the best interests of the people of Cabarrus County will be <br /> served by the abandonment of said road. <br /> And whereas it further appearing that said abandonment will not interfere <br /> with the right of ingress or egress to other property or to any other highway <br /> or road other than the property o~med by the petitioners. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chairman of the North Carolina State <br /> Highway Commission make inquiry into the proposed abandonment, and if in his <br /> opinion the public interest demands it, then abandon said roadway, pursuant to <br /> the provisions of G.S. 136-63. <br /> This the 25th day of May, 1966. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
