498 <br /> <br /> The regular monthly meeting of the Cabarrus County Commissioners was held at 10:00 A.M. on <br /> <br /> December 5, 1966, with the following members present: <br /> <br /> Commissioners: C. Frank James, C. McNeil Petrea, Dr. Richard R. Rankin, <br /> <br /> Glenn Hawfield, and Estus B. White. <br /> <br /> Upon motion by Petrea, seconded by Rankin, C. Frank James was elected Chairman of the <br /> <br /> Commissioners. <br /> <br /> Upon motion by Rankin, seconded by Hawfield, C. McNeil Petrea was elected Vice-Chairman. <br /> <br /> Upon motion by Petrea, seconded by Rankin, Arvonia Cochran was appointed Clerk to the <br /> Board of County Commissioners. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Rankin made motion, seconded by Petrea, to appoint Ralph K. Litaker Cabarrus County Tax <br /> Supervisor. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Hawfield, to appoint C. Gice Allen, Jr., as Cabarrus County <br /> Tax Collector. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Motion made by Petrea, seconded by White, to appoint Alfred L. Hurt as County Accountant. <br /> Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Rankin made motion, seconded by Petrea, to appoint W. S. Bogle as Solicitor of Cabarrus <br /> County Recorders Court. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by White, to appoint A. Leon Overcash Cabarrus County Dog <br /> Warden. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Hawfield made motion, seconded by Petrea, to appoint Corum F. Miller as Veteran Service <br /> Officer. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Hawfield, to appoint H. Pat Crowell as Civil Defense Director. <br /> Vote carried. <br /> <br /> County Attorney C. M. Lewellyn, reported dn the status of the purchase of the Holdin9 property <br /> on East Corban Avenue. He was instructed by the Board to complete the transaction. <br /> <br /> Upon motion by Petrea, seconded by White, the following road petitions were approved: <br /> Township ~ 2 - Unnamed Road - request for addition <br /> Township ~ h - Cabarrus Road - request for addition <br /> <br /> Township ~ 12 - Southern Portion of Grandview Drive - request for addition <br /> <br /> Applications for off premises beer permits yere submitted by James C. Lambert and <br /> <br /> <br />
