D. Ratchford, Jr., presented the Annual Audit of the Accouts of the Clerk of Superior <br />Court, performed by Daniel and Daniel, C.P.A.'s. Hawfield made motion, seconded by White to <br />accept the audit. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> County Accountant Alfred L. Hurt reported about the completion of installation of new <br />front doors for the Courthouse which had been requested by the previous Board. <br /> <br /> George Griffin, architect, reported on his investigation of outside repairs and paintin§ <br />for the Courthouse as requested by the County Accountant. He informed'the Board an estimated <br />expenditure of $8,000 to $10~000 would be necessary. The matter was tabled pcndin§ further study <br />by the Board. <br /> <br /> County Accountant Hurt presented a bill for $7,500.00 from the administrators of the estate <br />of W. H. Beckerdite, late County Attorney, for his services in connection with the $6,000,000 <br />school bond issue, approved by Cabarrus County voters in 1962. He explained that the New York <br />bond attorneys did approximately ?0~ of the work and their fee amounted to $2,600.00 and no <br />statement for Mr. Beckerditets services was submitted by him prior to his death. The Board <br />referred this matter to County Attorney Lewellyn for negotiation of the amount. <br /> <br /> Upon motion by Hawfield, seconded by Petrea, the vote carried for Friday, Saturday, and <br /> Monday, December 23, 2h, and 26th to be designated as Christmas holidays for C~unty offices <br /> <br /> <br />
