County Accountant A. L. Hurt reported that a portion of the County property on Church Street being used as a parking lot has several trees, a large gully, and underbrush adjacent to property owned by Morris and White. The City of Concord and the other property owners proposed to improve this portion by removal of trees, underbrush, and installing drain pipes. Commissioner Hawfteld was requested to confer with City officials about this matter. A request to purchape a new electric typewriter for the Sheriffls Department was approved. County Accountant Hurt was instructed to purchase this machine according to the need of the department. Motion was made by Hawfield, seconded by White to approve a resolution requesting the Cabarrus County Board of Election to call for an A.B.C. referendum. Vote was unanimous. Petrea proposed an amendment to Hawfieldls original motion to include packaged beer and wine sales. Voted for - Pe ~rea, White, Hawfield. Absent - Rankin. Upon motion by Hawfield, seconded by Rankin, the following road petitions were approved: T-11 Manor Avenue - Request for improvement. T-11 Glenwood Avenue - Request for surface treatment.
