514 <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners met at a c2ll meeting Saturday, March 18, 1967, <br /> <br /> at the Courthouse. Present were: <br /> <br /> Chairman - C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners - Rankin, Petrea, Hawfield, and White. <br /> <br /> The following resolution was adopted and appears on page /~_ and becomes a part of <br /> these minutes. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> Clerk to Board <br /> <br /> The 'CabarrUs c0u'nty C6mmiS'~Sio'he~s, ~m~'e~ing in' special <br /> <br /> session on March 17, 196~, at the County Courthouse Building <br /> in Concord, North Carolina, at 10:00 A.M., and C. Frank James, <br /> County Chairman, presiding over the meeting attended by MacNeil <br /> Petrea, Glenn Hawfield, Dr. Dick Rankin and Estus White, <br /> unanimously passed the following resolution: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Westinghouse, Inc. has proposed to build <br /> a manufacturing plant at an estimated cost of $65,O00,000..00 <br /> in the County of Cabarrus; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the County Commissioners of Cabarrus <br /> County are at all times interested in the continued <br /> growth and development of this County and desire to <br /> encourage the said Westinghouse, Inc. in locating their <br /> proposed facilities in Cabarrus County; <br /> <br /> AND WtlEREAS, it has been brought to the County <br /> Commissioners' attention that an estimated 50 ;090 <br /> gallons,of water per day will be necessary for the <br /> operation of said plant; that the County Commissioners <br /> are of the opinion that it would be in the public <br /> · interest of this Oounty to actively encourage and <br /> ~msist said WestinghoUse, Inc. to locate their pro- <br /> posed plant in said County; and that the said County <br /> Commissioners desire to take whatever steps are <br /> necessary to insure that an ample Water supply will <br /> be provided for said proposed plant. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the County <br /> Commissioners of Cabarrus County wish to encourage <br /> the said Westinghouse, Inco to locate their proposed <br /> new plant in Cabarrus County; and that they pledge <br /> that they will work with the City of Concord, private <br /> and public agencies and interested individuals through <br /> all legal means at their dSsposal to insure said <br /> Westinghouse, Inc. that ample water facilities will <br /> be furnished if the proposed plant is located in <br /> Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> g.
