56'7 Mr. J. M. Little, owner of property tn the Midland area, protested to the Board about the validation of his property. The Board requested Mr. Little to reappear at a later date, and the matter would be considered. Mr. W. H. Mills, operator of the C & M Ambulance Service, appeared before the Board to discuss rhea mount of the subsidy he required from the County tn order to provide satisfactory service. After discussion, Ranktn made motion, seconded by White, to pay C & M $600.00 per month Including welfare ~btlls plus permission to operate within the County for a period of one year, such permission to be drafted in agreement form by the County. Attorney and the City Attorney. Vote carried. The County Accountant presented a recommendation of the Health Department Board to change the classification of W. V. ~ovtngton from Sanitary Supervisor I1 to Sanitary Supervisor III and a change in salary from $8,028 per year to $8,ab~k per year. Ranktn made motion, seconded by White, to approve the recommen- dation. Vote carried. The Board declared Monday, September b~, 1967, as a Labor Day Holiday and to hold the regular monthly meeting of the Cabarrus County Gommtsstoners on Tuesday, September 5, 1967. Mr. Frank Craven, District Forester, appeared before the Board and proposed several changes in the forestry program due to a shortage of qualified foresters. The changes consisted of putting a full-time County ranger and an assistant ranger in Cabarrus County and to have one forester work both Cabarrus and Stanley Counties. The changes would reducethe current forestry budget by $1,500.00. Commissioners agreed unanimously to accept the proposed forestry program as out- lined by Mr. Craven.
